Quebec man receives North America’s first regenerated liver transplant.
A 64-year-old man at CHUM hospital in Montreal received North America's first liver transplant using regenerated liver technology. The procedure was performed on a single patient, and his long-term outcomes are not yet known. While the technology is projected to make dozens of additional livers available each year, that wider benefit has not yet been realized.
